Pokémon Survivors: a free Vampire Survivors-style Pokémon game
Pokémon Survivors is a free, unofficial fan game that mixes Pokémon with Vampire Survivors. It is an action roguelite (bullet heaven) that runs in your browser and on your phone, with no download and no sign-up.
How to play
Pick your starter Pokémon, walk around the map and let it attack on its own. Survive 15 minutes of wild Pokémon hordes, collect experience, learn moves, equip held items and evolve mid-run. At the end, face Mewtwo. Then keep going in endless mode until Arceus comes hunting. Beat the legendaries as bosses to catch them, then play as them in Legend Mode.
Features
- 27 starters from every region, Kanto to Paldea (Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Piplup, Froakie, Fuecoco, Sprigatito and more), each with its full evolution line.
- Eggs that hatch with the steps you take in runs: bosses, chests and rifts leave eggs that unlock 54 more playable Pokémon from every type and generation (Pikachu, Eevee, Gastly, Magikarp, Riolu, Gible, Bagon, Deino, Dreepy and more), with a 1% chance to hatch shiny. And Munchlax, which evolves into Snorlax, only hatches from the Friendship Egg: 82 playable Pokémon in all.
- Invite friends with your link: whoever signs up through it gets a Friendship Egg, and you get Mystery Gifts for every friend who really plays: another Friendship Egg, the Ambassador title with an exclusive card frame, an Ultra rare egg at 5 friends and, at 10, a shiny Dratini.
- 207 moves and 32 held items: every family has a signature move and learns new moves at each evolution, with more moves than slots, so every run builds a different team. Max out a regular move with the right item and it evolves (Ember + Charcoal becomes Flamethrower), and evolved moves keep leveling up.
- Every move splits into two paths at Lv 4 and Lv 7 that change how it plays. Rare and shiny cards, a Forget button and a draft for your 2nd move at the start of every run.
- 91 Abilities, picked at the first evolution (the Hidden Ability included), and branching evolutions: Eevee picks among its 8 eeveelutions, and so do Kirlia, Snorunt, Poliwhirl, Scyther and Charcadet.
- Moves from outside the learnset: bosses drop TMs, the Move Tutor shows up on the map and each rift legendary teaches its own legendary move (Sacred Fire, Origin Pulse, Roar of Time…). Two maxed moves fuse into a duo move (Fire Pledge, Fusion Flare, Fusion Bolt…), and chests may hide cursed items like Life Orb and Choice Band.
- Type matchups, burn, poison, paralysis, freeze, confusion and more, plus a special attack for each of the 18 types such as Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, Bolt Strike and Draco Meteor. Agile lines like Treecko, Riolu and Gible dash in chains from foe to foe, and Aegislash swaps between Shield and Blade Forme.
- 415 wild Pokémon from all 9 generations, Dragons included, with Kanto, Johto and Hoenn complete (every species but the legendaries and mythicals), in 5 tiers: every run draws a different cast, from basic Pokémon early to evolved ones late, leaning towards each biome's types.
- Legendary bosses: Onix, Snorlax, a legendary trio drawn every run (the birds Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, the beasts Raikou, Entei and Suicune or the Regis Regirock, Regice and Registeel) and Mewtwo, sometimes joined by a rare mythical: Mew, Celebi or Jirachi. Each boss has until the next one arrives or it flees; Mewtwo, at the end, blasts the horde away for a duel. Bosses aim at the path you're taking, leap at you when you keep away and unlock a new attack when enraged. The legendaries on the map make an entrance with their own theme and fight in 3 phases, building to an ultimate with a marked safe spot.
- Five biomes per run (Route 1, Viridian Forest, Mt. Moon, Mt. Silver and Lavender Tower) and weather that shifts type matchups: harsh sunlight, rain, sandstorm, snow and fog.
- Enemies with personality, at most one per stage: Chansey heals the horde, Bronzor and Bronzong shield it, Nidoqueen calls in reinforcements, Voltorb, Electrode and Drifloon explode, Magnemite and Vikavolt fire beams and Hitmonlee and Lokix leap over the horde. Each stage also has a species that spits from afar, with shots of its type that pass through your aura.
- Alpha Pokémon: red-glowing giants that shrug off knockback and charge along a red lane they aim first. Beat one for EXP, ₽ and the Alpha's prize, a level-up of rare cards only.
- Epic rifts: two per run, with the run clock stopped inside. The legendary's weather warns you in the sky, a tear opens and you cross its domain ahead of a threat: the tide in the Seafloor Cavern (Kyogre), lava in the Magma Cavern (Groudon), the crumbling Sky Pillar (Rayquaza), the whirlpools of the Whirl Islands (Lugia), the burning Bell Tower (Ho-Oh), time skips on Spear Pillar (Dialga), the mist of Southern Island (Latias and Latios together) and the Drifting Meteoroid (Deoxys). Then comes a 3-phase battle that transforms the arena, with ultimates like Origin Pulse and Roar of Time, and the Poké Ball at the end.
- Legend Mode: catch all 23 legendaries (the birds, the beasts, the Regis, Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Latias, Latios, Deoxys and Arceus) by beating them as bosses, then play as them. They awaken at Lv 12 and 28 (Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, Mega Rayquaza), open with their legendary move and an innate Ability, face a stronger horde and have a ranking of their own, on every difficulty.
- Places to explore: the entrance to a cave, a graveyard or an updraft shows up on the map. The Dark Cave is a Mystery Dungeon of floors in the dark, with stairs, a Monster House and a chest at the bottom; the Haunted Graveyard holds only ghosts, whose spirits wake Spiritomb; and only a Flying-type Pokémon can ride up Above the Clouds, where wings drift in on the wind and raise your stats.
- Landmarks all over the map, in every biome: a roofless abandoned cottage to walk into (with a crate left behind), a mine tunnel through a ridge that leaves the horde behind, a hedge maze with a chest at its heart, Unown ruins with an altar that lights up and an abandoned camp with the fire still burning. Bushes, fallen logs, rocks and trees make the way livelier.
- Mega Evolution: beat a rift legendary to get the Mega Stone, then Mega Evolve at the final evolution for 20 seconds. There are 38 Megas across 33 lines, each with its own stats, special and ability: Venusaur, Charizard X and Y, Blastoise, Raichu X and Y, Alakazam, Gengar, Dragonite, Meganium, Feraligatr, Tyranitar, Sceptile, Blaziken, Swampert, Gardevoir, Gallade, Pidgeot, Gyarados, Ampharos, Scizor, Houndoom, Aggron, Manectric, Altaria, Banette, Glalie, Salamence, Metagross, Staraptor, Garchomp and Garchomp Z, Lucario and Lucario Z, Emboar, Chesnaught, Delphox and Greninja. Lines with two Megas pick their stone. In Legend Mode, Latias, Latios and Mewtwo (Y) Mega Evolve too.
- Endless mode after Mewtwo: the horde never stops and Arceus, the reaper, hunts you from 20:00.
- Three difficulty levels, all open from the start: Normal, Hard and Nightmare, with brutal hordes and half the healing. Standing still doesn't work: late in a run the horde pushes through, hits harder and the map itself strikes where you stand (Thunder in the rain, hail in the snow, Rock Slide, Stealth Rock), always marked on the ground first.
- Rankings by time survived on each difficulty, for today, this week and all time, filterable by Pokémon and by friends, plus a separate ranking for Legend Mode. With an account you get a public profile with a shareable link and can follow other trainers.
- Wild shinies and shiny starters, Poké Dollars and permanent upgrades in the Poké Mart, including the Shiny Charm, which doubles the shiny odds.
- Today's outbreak: every day one wild species takes over every run, the same for everyone, and its shiny shows up about twice a run.
- Daily Challenge: one run a day that is the same for everyone (same seed, Pokémon and difficulty, no upgrades or items). Only your first finished run counts on the challenge ranking, and everyone who takes part earns a gold (top 10%), silver (top half) or bronze ribbon.
- A Poké Mart with three shelves: permanent upgrades, today's counter (Lure, Incense, an egg for sale and a daily deal, with a daily stock) and Style (Poké, Great, Ultra and Master Ball frames and backgrounds for the card you share, wallpapers for the PC Box).
- An in-game Pokédex of 584 species: log every one you see and defeat, and catch the shinies you defeat, the Pokémon you hatch and every form you play.
- Daily and weekly missions and 63 achievements with bronze, silver and gold medals, some with titles to show off, like Shiny Hunter and Alpha Hunter. Some weekly missions and every gold medal also give an egg.
- Map events: buff altars, healing fountains, locked chests guarded by an ambush, traps that hurt the horde too and a fleeing Meowth full of coins. Plus field missions that pay ₽ and rare cards: defend an egg in its nest, gather lost Poké Balls against the clock and lead a lost Togepi home.
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon-style pixel art, in English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
- Works on phones with a touch joystick and installs as an app.
